Privacy Policy

What this site collects

The site does not offer visitor accounts, comments, a newsletter or contact forms. Hosting and security systems may process limited technical information such as IP address, browser and operational request data to deliver, secure and troubleshoot the service.

Our own privacy-minimised analytics count observed article views and, when affiliate links are available, observed clicks on those links. Each event contains a random event ID for deduplication, its type, an article ID, an optional product ID, a registered pin and source-account ID when the current page has a recognised Pinterest campaign label, and the time received by our server. The random ID identifies an event, not a person, and is not reused to recognise you on later pages.

The analytics database does not store IP addresses, emails, fingerprints, complete page URLs or referrers. Attribution applies only to the current page; it is not carried across articles. Events cannot tell us who you are, count unique people or confirm an individual purchase.

Cookies and service providers

Our analytics use no cookies, local storage or persistent visitor identifiers. We do not install Pinterest advertising/conversion tags or other third-party analytics tags. Network-security, DNS, CDN and hosting providers may use necessary technical cookies or process technical data to protect and deliver the service. Providers may process data in countries where they operate.

How information is used and shared

Limited technical data is used to operate, secure and diagnose the site, and to meet applicable legal obligations. Aggregate event counts help us understand which articles and registered pin ideas lead to observed reading and link clicks. Information is not sold. It may be processed by providers that deliver DNS, security, CDN or hosting services, or disclosed where required by law.

Retention and your choices

Raw analytics events are kept in the live database for 30 days. Daily aggregate counts and service-availability records are kept for up to 13 months. Analytics backup copies are scheduled for rotation after 28 days. Rotation runs with backup maintenance; if a backup computer is offline, overdue copies are removed when its backup job next runs. A record deleted from the live database can therefore remain in a backup until that rotation. Restored backups are cleaned against the current retention limits before collection resumes.

The measurement script respects browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals when available. Disabling JavaScript or blocking the measurement endpoint also prevents browser events; reading the site and following links still work. These choices and browser protections mean our counts do not cover every visit.

Technical operational logs are retained only for as long as reasonably needed for security, troubleshooting and legal obligations. You may ask about information associated with a message you send us, request correction or request deletion where applicable by emailing us. We may need to retain limited information for security, fraud prevention or legal reasons.
